Jonathan Palmer Memorial Match

Jonathan Palmer Memorial Match

Over 200 People turned out to watch an Abbeymead Rovers Team run out as 8-1 winners against a Hanley Swan Side.

The event raised over £2700 for charity and was organised to remember Jonathan Palmer who was tragically killed in a hit and run in October last year.

Jonathan played for Abbeymead Rovers from the age of 5 and progressed onto West Bromwich Albions Academy when he was 9. He later played for Gloucester Citys U18s and then Hanley Swan Seniors.

Our U10s are currently looking for new players – we run four teams at that age group so all abilities welcome.

Many thanks to all those who attended the Club Presentation Day on Saturday 13th July.

There was a fantastic turnout to support and congratulate all players, despite the heat!!

The relevent section of the website will be fully updated shortly with each teams individaul award winners.

It is the one opportunity that we have as a club to get everyone together on the same day, albeit at different times, but it is important for everyone to realise how big and successful the club has become over the years, and that each team in each age group plays an important role regardless of ability.

We have had some really positive feedback and I will find out if we can get a link to the presentation shown on the day uploaded onto the website.

Thanks again for your support
